Be a “Movement Builder”
Efforts to prevent child sexual abuse have to go beyond training and education in order to be truly effective. Supporting laws, policies, and regulations that support child sexual abuse prevention are critical if we intend to successfully challenge those who would violate our trust and our children.
First, choose one of the pledges below. Then, fill out the information box so we can automatically send you an email with resources specifically matched to your selected pledge. These resources will help you build your knowledge and skills so that you can confidently carry it out.
Pledge 1
I pledge to contact my state legislators about creating or strengthening child sexual abuse prevention education legislation in our schools!
Several states have passed legislation either mandating or encouraging the training of school personnel and/or students about child sexual abuse. The laws vary widely in their specific provisions; however, share the common mission to protect children and youth from child sexual abuse. What is your state doing on the legislative front to address the issue? Learn how you can support current efforts, or work to get efforts started.

Pledge 2
I pledge to contact my legislators about introducing legislation to address educator sexual misconduct in our schools.
According to the US Department of Education, 10% or 4.5 million American school children report having had unwanted sexual contact with someone in their school – usually a teacher or coach. Legislation is in place or being proposed in 10 states to address the problem through more stringent screening of prospective school employees. Help bring this legislation to your state.
Pledge 3
I pledge to bring the Enough Abuse Campaign to my region or state!
Build the movement to prevent child sexual abuse in your region, county or state by organizing a meeting of leaders and concerned citizens to learn about how to adopt the Enough Abuse Campaign in your area! MA, MD, NJ, NY, NV, ME, SD and several California counties are already on board.
